Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Penna ("we", "us", "our") is a LinkedIn thought leadership tool that turns news articles into professional posts. Our website is penna.ink and our app is at app.penna.ink. You can reach us at hello@penna.ink.

2. What we collect

We collect information in two ways:

• Information you give us. When you join our waitlist or sign up, we collect your email address. When you use the app, we collect the URLs you submit and the posts we generate for you.
• Information collected automatically. We use Firebase Analytics (Google) to collect standard usage data including pages visited, session duration, and click events. This data is aggregated and does not personally identify you unless you've signed in.

3. How we use it

• To send you early access and product updates (waitlist email only — we don't spam).
• To operate and improve the Penna service.
• To understand how people use our site so we can make it better.

We do not sell your data. We do not share your email with third parties for marketing.

4. Data storage

Your data is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore and Firebase Authentication), hosted in the United States. Firebase is compliant with GDPR and SOC 2. You can review Google's data processing terms at firebase.google.com/support/privacy.

5. Cookies and tracking

We use Firebase Analytics which sets cookies to distinguish users and sessions. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels beyond Firebase/Google Analytics.

6. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete any personal data we hold about you. To exercise these rights, email us at hello@penna.ink and we'll respond within 30 days.

If you're in the EU or UK, you also have rights under GDPR / UK GDPR, including the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

7. Data retention

Waitlist emails are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. App account data is retained for the life of your account plus 90 days after deletion. Analytics data is retained for 14 months per Google's default setting.

8. Children

Penna is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

9. Changes to this policy

We'll update this page if our practices change and note the date at the top. Material changes will be emailed to registered users.
